​All our Rope Access Technicians hold ‘IRATA’ qualifications, which are recognised and accepted by The Health and Safety Executive and The British Standard Agency.

​Operatives are also trained:

  • To use Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs)
  • To erect and inspect mobile scaffold towers.

Our highly trained operatives can competently do any kind of high level access works including glass cleaning in mainland UK, from straightforward low-level shop windows to high-level all-glass office blocks, using:

  • Harness Methods
  • Cradle Methods
  • Mobile Elevating Work Platforms
  • Abseiling Technique to large Geotechnical works where the abseiler are far less disruptive to the system i.e. Railway and Road Cuttings.


All works undertaken by ourselves meet current working at height regulations and are covered by the appropriate insurance.

Smith Services Limited, prior to any works taking place, provide carefully prepared site and task specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements to both its customers and operatives.
